It's just over a month 'til I have both girls home for the summer. Though I'm counting down the days since know this summer's going to be a super fun one, a teeny part of me will miss all the A and Mommy time we've been enjoying since September.
I love when C is at home. There is laughter, action and excitement. A is super happy and they can entertain themselves for hours.
But when C's around, I usually spend most of my time interacting with her. C is a chatty Cathy. Very, very chattyFrom the many questions she has (why is the grass green?) to the many observations she has (that cloud is cirrus, not cumulus) to the nagging I usually do (did you practise that violin/do that printing yet?), she's my busy kid. Also, A naps and C doesn't. And they sometimes fight.
A on the other hand, loves the sweet snuggles. She adores playing by herself and spends tons of time in her kitchen. She's such a little silly. We have lots of conversations, sing many songs and I soak up that two year old sweetness as she is slowly growing less baby and more little girl.
So basically less of this...
and more of this….

So yeah I'll miss all my time alone with my two year old but hey, we'll be loving the sister stuff, sleep-ins, summer days and tons and tons of sunshine fun!

Sisters and mama time is the best!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it?
DeleteOh goodness, I just noticed the top A is wearing in the last picture- my 4 year old has the same one! So precious. We call our time together 'girl time' my husband is sorely out- numbered ;)
ReplyDeleteGymboree for the win! It's a dress though. And yeah, the level of estrogen in this house is a little crazy!
DeleteSo precious! Your girls are so much like mine. They seem to have the exact same tempers and personalities..... except my youngest no longer naps :(.
ReplyDeleteYour going to have a awesome summer.
Thanks girl! We are super excited for it. And my older one napped until she was 5 so I'm hoping for a repeat with the little one--- I'm not very optimistic though.
DeleteI totally get how you're feeling! I really enjoy alone time with my younger one while the older one is at school but we're definitely going to make this a fun adventurous summer for sure! And as always, your girls are super cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks Salma, I was scared to write this as I didn't want it to seem like I was favouring my second- it's just that she doesn't get lots of attention when my older is around!
DeleteAwww, C sounds like such a smarty. I don't think I remember the difference between cumulus and...whatever the other clouds are called. It's definitely bittersweet watching your youngest go from less baby to more little kid. I'm feeling nostalgic about Ez turning 2, so I totally get how you're feeling. And wondering how all kids get equal attention when there's more than one has been on my mind too. I assume it all balances out, but not on a daily basis. Like A got all that time while C was in school, and then C will make up for it this summer ;)
