Favourite Moments 2017

Season's Greetings, friends! Popping in for my last post of 2017. Here are just a few of my very favourite pictures from 2017.

When we went to Trinidad in January

This picture of my face in NYC when my brother and nephew surprised us cracks me up. C says I acted like I saw a celebrity.

Blue Mountain in April was awesome at Easter.

We had a Food Truck Eats Party in May for D's birthday. Our friends had so much fun!

These two and their daddy!

Five is so fun!

This is Us. In Vermont for #bergalloo Part 1. so.much.fun.

This is my very favourite picture from the Disney Cruise-- all the key player ; )

A last minute trip to Cleveland where we connected with D's friend and her awesome family.

So much fun, all summer long.

Her selfie game is stronger than mine.

And of course my Christmas card pictures are always my favourite.

We had such a fun year but I'm going to be honest. 2017 was filled with ups and downs. A couple people close to me have had some very challenging times and it wasn't easy for us to see the pain they were/are in. But this blog is about all things happy so that's what we will focus on! My prayer is that 2018 is a happy healthy one for them and for all of us. May your year be filled with beautiful moments, treasured memories and all the blessings a heart can know.

Happpppyyyyy New Year!!!

Holiday Love

Happy Festive Friday before Christmas!

From our family to yours...
May your holiday season sparkle with moments of love, laughter and goodwill!

Here are some of my favourite pictures from our holiday photo session.

A has this new smile showing all of those teeth. She busted it out for almost the entire shoot.

By now, most of our friends and family have received our cards. These are the ones that made the cut.

And this one that i almost put in as our Christmas card shot which represents the awesome character my kids call Daddy.

Eat, drink and be merry, lovelies! But let's not forget the reason for this beautiful season! God's blessings to one and all.

What's Up Wednesday- December 2017

5 more days until Christmas! Here's what's going on in our little lives!

at we're eating this week?

Monday: I made a huge batch of chicken tortilla vegetable soup in an attempt to put some healthy into an otherwise decadent December.
Tuesday: Dinner at my friend Jenn's house- lobster and shrimp pasta for the win. The kids had pasta in tomato sauce.

While we're at her house, let's take a moment to admire her beautiful tree

And a selfie just because

Wednesday: I'm going to attempt feeding my family leftovers.
Thursday and Friday: we might have company over. If not, there will be a super simple meal or maybe even take out.
Saturday- my mom comes in so we will probably take her to dinner.
Sunday: Christmas Eve- we head to our aunt's house.

We  are also having way too much sugar and eggnog.

What I'm reminiscing about
Decembers past but not really. We are just immersing ourselves in the season and some family time.

What I'm loving
Aren't these hostess gifts awesome? I received them from some of my very favourite friends when they visited.

It's orchids in a glass jar to be watered weekly-- let's see...

What we've been up to…
Some gingerbread house making

Our elf has been busy too

What I'm dreading…
Hopefully these two weeks at home with the kids will reinvigorate us to begin January with some energy.

What I'm working on
Getting everything ready for the big day. Menus, groceries, shopping, baking, wrapping. In addition to all the regularly scheduled activities like kid activities, schools, house stuff, loads of laundry,  getting things ready for tax season etc. We try to do a little everyday so we aren't overwhelmed. (I use we in the royal sense)

What I'm excited about…
Five days 'til the big day and two weeks off. It is my most favourite time of the year1

What I'm watching/reading…
I watch a ton of those Hallmark Christmas movies in the background while doing stuff. I even suckered D into watching one with me the other day- ha!

And I recently discovered with my Prime Membership, I can download ten magazines to borrow at a time-- so I borrowed the December editions of some of my very favourite. #winning

What I'm listening to..
Christmas carols on total repeat. Like most of the Western Hemisphere, my favourites are Buble and Bing.

What I'm wearing…
Warm stuff-- with some red here and there and lots of Lou and grey!

What I'm doing this weekend…
See what we're eating above ;-). Apart from that and building on the eating theme, we intend to put some baking and vegging out on the agenda.

What I'm looking forward to next month..
My birthday maybe but I love December so much I don't want it to end :(

What else is new?
My girl Priya and I went to Yorkdale Mall one day and checked out the Ferrero Rocher pop up store with their gifts of thoughtfulness experience. So beautiful, so fun and lots of Ferrero Rocher samples. Now that's what I call a great time!

This weekend...

This weekend...

- We started off Friday by ordering pizza, opening a bottle of Chianti and watching a kids' movie as a family. I pretended to watch while browsing my free Amazon Prime Christmas magazines on the iPad.

- I made it to spin on Saturday morning and then to the grocery to pick up some last minute things.

- Laundry, cleaning and cooking took up the rest of the day before our company came over.

- We had some family over for dinner, drinks and games-- such a fun night... and they helped clean up before they left #winning

- After going to bed at 2, we still had to wake up bright and early to get A to skating and I headed to  a hot yoga class.

- We headed out to shop for a Secret Santa gift for C and some 70% off Christmas decorations at Michael's

- Three out of the four of us had a nap

- The kids watched Santa Paws before we had tacos for dinner and did a bit of gingerbread house decorating.

She doesn't do pizza so she had garlic bread

D gets into the decorating more than the kids do, I think.

(gingerbread house to be unveiled shortly)

Happy Monday! I just love the week before the holidays. So very festive!
