TBB Asks- Relationships

Happy Monday! All things love today, friends.... here we go!


1- Who is your oldest friend? How did you meet?
My oldest friend that I still keep in contact with is my friend Adia from high school. She was in my high school classes all the way until the end, all seven years! We aren't in touch as often as we should be but when we chat, it's like we never left off.

2- Who are your people?
I have a few people but we are tight!

Okay scratch few people. Through this post, I'm realising that I have a lot of peeps!


3- How did you meet your partner?
In TGIF's in Chaguanas in TNT. It was 2002 and we became friends and then it  quickly developed into soulmate status!!

4- What's your love language?
I wrote a whole post about it but it's words of affirmation firstly for sure. 

5- Flowers or chocolates?
Both! LOL

6- What's the most meaningful gift you've ever received?
That's a tough one but recently my friend Kamini gave me a gift basket for my birthday with so many of my favourite things (she read a post of mine). It had chocolates, wine, a jade roller, a diffuser with a sampling of oils, my fave chocolate pecan pie which she just about searched the town to find, a framed picture of us and some teas with a steeper. Oh and she paid for my makeup to be done the night of the party. It was so kind and so thoughtful!


7- How is Valentines' Day celebrated in your home?
For the past couple Valentines' days, we have ordered in from a nice gourmet take out place in town, opened some bubbly, used our wedding china and crystal and enjoyed a multiple course meal with the kids. Lots of fun and I believe we are doing it this year again!

TBB Asks- December

Happy December Monday, lovelies! The elves are here and it's all things Christmas around here so this is one happy girl! Linking up with The Blended Blog for a little Christmas Q & A....



1. Candy Canes? Yes or No
No... even as a kid I didn't but my kids adore it. I do enjoy some candy cane ice cream though!

2. Christmas morning early riser or sleep in? 
Early- my girls won't have it any other way! And I'm in it for the stockings!

3. Did you shop on Black Friday? Yes or No
Yes! Got some wonderful deals too! I can't say anything else though without revealing too much though! 

4. Christmas Tree up in November? Yes or No
Yes and yes! Anytime after November 11th.

5. Do you get Holiday ideas from Pinterest?
Not really. I feel like I should though! 

6. Christmas Glam or Ugly Sweater?
Glam all the way!

7. Stocking Stuffers: Wrapped or Unwrapped?
Unwrapped for stockings for sure... wrapped for everything else.... and fancy wrapped too :-)

8. Traditional or Modern Christmas Songs?
Traditional mostly though a couple modern ones sneak in there.

9. Fruitcake? Yes or No
A teeny tiny piece of Trini black cake (our rum infused fruit cake, yes please)

10. Is your Christmas Shopping Finished? 
I'm in a good place. Just a few little items.

11. Is there Snow in December where you live? 
Yes! Though I'm used to a sunny Christmas growing up in the tropics.

12. Classic Show: A Charlie Brown Christmas or Rudolph? 
I'm a rudolph girl for sure!

Here are also some pics from this past weekend when my favourite cousin Chad (aka brother from another mother) came to visit us. 

I picked him up from the airport and after a little lunch, made him do a little shopping with me.

Followed by a little McD cafe

Our elves came-- with tiny christmas decorations and some lip smackers--- on the girls' wish list. 


On Saturday am, a little trolley ride, crafts and snacks!

After a very exciting pit stop, we headed to Candyland, the mall and dinner





And these were the elves on Day 2. We took it easy: caught up on laundry and the kids and Chad went to do some gingerbread decorating. The evening consisted of  Chad making dinner, playing cards and hanging out!

TBB Asks- November 2018



Happy Monday! We had a quiet weekend with dinner with the girls' friends on Friday and another friend and her kids coming over for kids on Saturday. Other than that, it was full on #divalideclutter over here with lots of purging, sorting, donating and laundry here! 

Although we celebrated Thanksgiving a few weeks ago here, I thought I'd still join in the fun for TBB asks with the Blended Blog. 


1. Have you ever kept a Gratitude Journal? Yes or No? 
I tried- but after a few days, I forgot about it. It's such a wonderful idea though and ever so often I do it in my head.

2. Hosting Thanksgiving at your house? Yes or No?
I've done it a few times and once everyone pitches it, it is awesome!

3. Favorite Food from The Thanksgiving Meal?
I'm all about the stuffing. 

4. What one thing in Nature are you most grateful for? 
I'm so grateful for sunshine whenever it deigns to come out.

5. Pumpkin Pie: Yes or No?
Most of the time,no. With a very rare exception.

6. Traditional Cookbook: Yes or No?
I love the internet and marrying different recipes for our palate. 

7. Oven Baked or Deep-Fried Turkey?
I've actually never done deep fried turkey.

8. Thanksgiving Leftovers: Yes or No? 
Yes-- so much better the next day.

9. What is one household product your most grateful for?
Hmmm... water? I know I'm cheating but we need water to do everything around the house, no? Including flushing toilets. #micdrop

10. Are you most grateful for home cooked meals or restaurant meals? 
Home cooked meals-- when others are doing the cooking :-). But a great restaurant meal with a wonderful chef also can be spectacular!

Happy first day of October, friends!

1. Favorite Fall Color? 
That red orange that some trees get! Or grey as I love grey in general... but wait, is grey a fall colour?

2. Apple Cider HOT or COLD?
Neither! Too sweet for me. My kids love cold apple cider though. And an apple cider cockail is awesome!

3. Caramel Apple: Yes or No? 
A sliver of caramel apple 

4. Pumpkin Doughnut or Apple Cider Doughnut?
Apple Cider for sure.

5. Long or Short Cardigan?
I'm loving the very long cardigans this year!

6. Favorite Football or Fall Party Food? 
Hmmmm... that would have to be this corn dip though it's definitely an all year round appetizer. 
7. Orange or White Pumpkins?
White all the way! 


8. Hayride or Bonfire?
MY kids love a good hayride.

9. Favorite Fall Baked Good?
My friend Kathryn's pumpkin pie. 



10. Most anticipated Fall activity? 
Divali-- our festival of lights is always so lovely. '

Questions with a Sassy Six y.o

 I usually do a Q&A with my girls around their birthday and this year is no different. Not going to lie, I did not choose the best time to ask little Miss Cranky these questions- let's just say with a late night last night, a day of horse back riding camp followed by swimming and an achy knee, my girl was not having it. This was a tough one for sure. But like a dog with a blogging bone, I prevailed and I present her answers.


What is your favourite colour?
Pinkish purple
 (not to be confused with pink OR purple obvi)

 
And your favourite Food?
Whisps (can I have some moon cheese?)
(girlfriend is a protein lover for sure)

What toy do you like most?
The pretend ice cream set 
(hence the upcoming ice cream party) 

What do you like to do the most?
Get the most steps
(Both girls have the vivofit jr and they are always competing for steps, A almost always gets less)

What's your most beloved Movie? 
Smurfs 2
Who is your Best friend? 
Leena (she lets me call her Leen Leen for sure). 
(She had her first real best friend this year, Alina. Best friend key chains and all. They will miss each other so much next year. )

What's your Favourite thing about your sister? 
She plays with me a lot 

What's your favourite thing about  mommy?
 You let me have mango
(of all the things)

What's your favourite thing about Daddy? 
 He lets me watch TV- sometimes not always

What book do you like best? 
 Bob books
(We have a bonafied reader)
What's your favourite fruit ?
Mango- you should know that


What's your favourite TV show? 
Shimmer & Shine

What's your favourite thing to wear? 
My wellie wisher clothes 
(they are NOT my favourite)

What do you want to be when you grow up? 
An ice cream truck driver
(Same answer as last year. I think she means ice cream truck owner) 


What's your favourite drink?
Water

Your best song is? 
Fight Song

And your favourite game?
Candy Land
What's your favourite animal?  
Unicorn
(love it When I asked her about horses as she is in riding camp this week, she emphatically stated that unicorns are a type of horse)

What don't you like to do?
Hurt my knee  


Life is never dull with this little one around that's for sure! Onward and upward, sweet child of mine!

Q&A with the littles

Just in time for Mother's Day, I thought it would be fun to survey my kids on what they thought about me, 


1. What is something I say a lot: 
C- Clean your room
A Go to school (I think she means when I use my 'Mary Poppins/Incredible Hulk' voice in the morning to say "Let's go")

2. What makes me happy? 
C- when my room is clean... or when anything is clean
A Smiling

3. What makes me sad? 
C- when A and I are disrespectful
A-needing to clean up the whole house (there is a definite cleaning theme here)

4. How tall am I? 
C 5 feet something
A This tall (puts her hand on top my head)

5. How old am I? 
C 40--- no 39
A 39

6. What's my favorite thing to do?
C hug Anjali or me
A Study (aka work on the computer)

7. What makes me proud of you?
C-When I do good in swimming
A- When I finished the reader levels

8. What is my favourite food?
C- doubles... no... yeah. I know you love oysters!
A- jalapenos (?!)

9. Do I have a favourite child? 
C- no-- even though when sometimes A is crying you like me better (#truedat)
A- no

10. If I could go anywhere, where would it be? 
C- Either to Rome again or to Greece
A- Mexico

11. Do you think you could live without me? 
C- No
A- Shakes her head. Uh-uh

12. What's my favourite song?
C- It used to be Perfect but then you got sick of it
A- I don't know... puja.

C- going like "Mommy. mommy, mommy.."
A- When I don't eat my food

C-  Nice, kind of strict... well I don't really talk about you a lot.
A-  I tell my friend Serena that my mom's name is Sarita.

My first-born's favourites!

Right before a very special NINTH birthday (how did we get here so fast?!) I'm doing my yearly Q&A with her.  It's fun to look back and see her different responses as she matures. 

(In case you're a grandparent, here's when she was six,  seven and eight)

Favourite colour?
Umm... I have two- one is teal and one is Navy-- because of the Aquajets and because I look good in navy or so I've heard. 

And your favourite Food?
Your pureed tomato soup 
(here she's having miso soup, she's a soup gal I guess)

What toy do you like most?
Either my Hatchimals or my Magic eight ball. 


What do you like to do the most?
Cuddle.. or read


Most beloved Movie? 
Boss Baby or Despicable Me 3. 

Who is your Best friend? 
Chloe... or Mason... actually Ana... oh no, I mean A (her sis) even though sometimes she can be annoying.

What's your Favourite thing about A? 
She's very funny and when she's not crying. 

 What's your favourite thing about  mommy?
(Long pause)
You do a lot of things for me and you are fun to cuddle. 
(what's the deal with cuddling)

What's your favourite thing about Daddy? 
He's very funny and he makes good baked beans and bread. 

What book do you like best? 
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Navel Oranges
(sidenote, very randomly we had navel oranges being sampled today at Farmboy, I believe it might be the first time)

Project MC Squared
(same as last year)

My Aquajets sweater
(basically a sweatshirt)

What do you want to be when you grow up? 
A famous author and a chef.

What's your favourite drink?
Milk

Cops and Robbers

Pandas

What don't you like to do?
EQAO
(it's exam prep for an exam that she has to write soon that we are working on daily.)


What do you want for your birthday? 
The second and third Geronimo Stilton Kingdom of Fantasy book.
