What's Up Wednesday- July 2019

Ohhh the last Wednesday of this epic summer is here already! Time to play catch up on this blog I've been ignoring!

What we're eating this week?

A whole lot of odds and ends.
Monday- turkey kolbassa vegetable soup (leftovers)
Tuesday- I bought some portuguese chicken and a salad.
My brother and nephew arrive this am to spend a few days so the eating gets a little less clean and we eat out more than usual.
Wednesday- I'm thinking grilled kebabs, shrimp and veggies.
Thursday- We are planning on heading to African Lion Safari- weather permitting- so I will see what I can whip up or order in.
Friday- who knows?
The weekend is just so far away but a little of this and a little of that!!

What I'm reminiscing about
Not a whole lot. We are living in the moment and loving it...

What I'm loving
All the fruit,we've been eating.

What we've been up to…
Our Canada celebrations at the beginning of the month were awesome!

First up, a huge bash at one of our neighbour's houses complete with fireworks by the river.

Their backyard is stunning!!!

Adults and kiddos loved the games.

All settling in to watch the show. It was so, so beautiful.

Next up... our awesome friends had a pool party...

Caesars for Canada Day--- yes please!

This girlfriend has made Canada feel so much more like home for me. Love you, Jenn!

Too.much pretty sugar!

What I'm dreading…
September. Clearly, I'm enjoying my girls and the sunshine way too much.

What I'm working on
Work... when remote access is not absolutely annoying me.

What I'm excited about…
My nephew's first time to our new home today!

What I'm watching/reading…
Lots. I just discovered Christina Lauren and read all 400 pages of  Love and Other Words in less than 24 hours.  The perfect light summer read.
Love and Other Words by [Lauren, Christina]

And not too much watching TV in the summer except for the Bachelorette (oh Jed uggg), Grand Hotel and the series finale of Jane the Virgin tonight.

What I'm listening to..
My kids singing, podcasts and youtube on waaay too loudly when the kiddos listen to it.

What I'm wearing…
All the summer dresses and jumpers.

What I'm doing this weekend…
Family time. Some pool time, a little restaurant action and lots of fun.

What I'm looking forward to next month?
A little family vacay!!!

What else is new?

Rolled ice cream yo!

Oh and she found her own beach bag that she is obsessed with! A is a packrat and she loves her bags- but never unpacks them so I always find lots of totes with her junk stuff in them. Some good things too-- like she takes her reusable straws with her so she doesn't have to use the plastic ones.

Have a wonderful Wednesday, loves!

A donut trampoline party

Good Monday Morning, friends! Yesterday, we had a little birthday celebration for a certain sweet seven year old. For the first time ever, she did not have a backyard/pool party. Instead she opted for a trampoline party and she enjoyed every minute of it.Here are just a few pics of it all...

A little warm up

Donuts for a little lady who doesn't like birthday cake. We got it from a local donut shop and it was amazing!!!

We did a little photobooth in the corner... No pictures but it was such a fun thing for the kiddos to do.

Waterbottles, flavoured chapsticks, a multi colouring pen and a canvas bag as the party favours. Sidenote, my kids assembled these- growing up is awesome sometimes.

Yep, that's the birthday girl in the air.

Two of us are closing our eyes but it's the best shot we got.

Super simple but so much fun for this sweet girl of mine.

Have a wonderful week, friends! My nephew is coming to visit soon and I'm soooo excited.

A little NYC- 1

Happy Friday, friends! A few weeks late but the memories still linger on. Here's a recap of one of the wonderful days we spent in NYC.

It was such a hot day but so beautiful out. The skyline amazes me everytime.

First stop, Central Park...My aunt who went with us had heart palpitations when my kids climbed on these rocks.

Central Park makes me so happy with its beautiful vegetation.

4
They never met a swing they didn't like

Or a carousel.

Next stop, the iconic Plaza Hotel.

I'd never been to the Food Court before but I could have spent quite a few hours there just checking out all the little gourmand restaurants and foodie shops.

And then it was Eloise time. We booked the Eloise Tea experience for little girls at the Hotel as my girls love the book so much. First stop a little browsing.

Next stop a little tea.

This little one was enthralled by the stories, the trivia and the tea.

Some colouring....

Such a beautiful set up and lovely gift bags for each girl.

My kids are huge macaroon fans so for the price of a small meal, we treated ourselves to some.

A foodie like her mama.

So many treats to choose from... so little time...

Even the ceiling was beautiful.

My cousin came to meet us and then we headed to Eataly... I love a beautiful but overpriced market :-)

Next stop, after a long, trafficky cab ride, on the rooftop of Eataly.. Sierra Birerra. So many silk flowers but so beautiful

So many photo opps.

Rooftop bar, check. Sunshine, check. Beautiful flowers on the ceiling, check.

Even the drinks were beautiful... We had so many different spritzes to choose from.

We headed downstairs after to a wonderful dinner... Their lamb ravioli was so delicious!!

And cannolis and granitas to end the night.

The city is even more beautiful at night when the debris is hidden LOL.

We ended the night exhausted and my kiddos with too much sugar were up too late... Go summer vacay!!!

Have a wonderful weekend, friends!!
