Friday Favourites: Canadian Thanksgiving weekend!

#Fridayfeelings! As we're heading into another weekend, here's a look at one of my FAVOURITE weekends of the year, Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. I was a bit nervous about this one because of my messy house in shambles because of the renovation. With some ingenuity and creativity, we rocked it though.

This weekend :
We dropped C off to swimming on Friday and heading for drinks and dinner at Bauer Kitchen! So yum

Did Mathesium, grocery shopping and a run with Toby

Headed to Mississauga at D's aunt's place for a Thanksgiving meal, SO much dessert and family time

Played Werewolves for the first time (obsessed)

Woke up late on Sunday, prepped our thanksgiving meal, brought outdoor furniture indoors and set everything up

Went for a short run with Toby followed by a longer hike with the family.

Had way too much Thanksgiving Dinner #

Watched "The Luckiest Girl Alive" with D - scary when you have a newly minted teen girl in the house

Slept in on Monday but went for a long, beautiful walk with a friend

Went to another friend's house and came home stocked with food.

Had leftovers for dinner!!

On Tuesday, though technically not the weekend, went with D for a quick bite to eat and to see Bryan Adams in our first concert in ages!!

I like little sticks of fries and these were the best!

These pumpkin flowers are always my fave-- I'm also blessed to be gifted one every year!

Thankfully, I could find a few of my little decorations!

On the menu: green beans, salad, mashed potatoes (c's specialty), stuffing, cranberry, bread, gravy and turkey!

Friday Favourites

Hello and happy Fri-yay friends! Haven't done one of these in a while so it's chockful of favourites from the past month!

1- Easter is around us and I'm so ready for it! Went to get some local treats (from Reid's for all the local people) for the kiddos the other day and loved their little display... As I hardly go into stores anymore, I was here for it!

2- Speaking of Easter, love these displays in our neighbourhood that a couple of our neighbours put up.

3- Got some flowers to celebrate the first day of spring.... the temps have been so beautiful and dog walks have been even more special than before.

4- Speaking of walking the dog, Toby is too cool for words.

Yep, he never used to be allowed on the furniture....

4- St Patty's was a Wednesday but we made it fun for us folk...

For that day at least, my kids got their fair share of spirulina....

5- I've been reading LOTS recently. Mostly on the Libby app but I was the first one to order the Priyanka Chopra book from the library. It was good, needed to dish some more tea but it was a nice read.

This little one made some yummy guac the other day.... She can whole avocados as a snack.

Then we made some homemade hummus. Another yummy treat!

And of course Sunday brunch has become a tradition even though lockdown has ended.

Five Friday Favourites!

Happy Friday, friends! Here are our favourites for the week around here.

1- My Valentine's flowers were still going strong last week and this week. There are still a couple blooms left after almost two weeks. I trim the stems and change the water every three days and it's made such a difference.

2- I've become that crazy plant lady who gets excited by the teeny tiny leaves that are emerging.

3- This little lady loves a good picture... she also loves a good selfie. You should see my phone!

4- When Toby and C lean in for a hug they go all in.

5- It was margarita day on Tuesday and D and I were here for it! A couple margs each, chips and salsa and some Schitt's Creek made for a fun night!

Friday Favourites

Yes to a long weekend! Here are things that have been bringing us smiles lately.

1- Real life school started back and everyone couldn't be happier.... except for Mr. Toby who we think is missing all the mayhem and "magic" that virtual school had brought to his life... He was living his best life with all the puppy snuggles he was the recipient of.

2- Speaking of online schooling, look who was working with his tessellations with our third grader.

3- My friend dropped off a belated birthday beverage as she was doing a Dry January but wanted to celebrate with a festive beverage with me via facetime... on my actual birthday, we still met up for a drink but this was another way to extend the celebrations :-)

4- We made this spicy sushi dip last weekend and it was so awesome!

5- Superbowl was quieter without the incredible party we usually go to at our friends' house. We did make the best of it with some salty dogs, awesome snacks and that awesome Weeknd halftime show!

6- My old neighbour's birthday was this week so a few of us headed to her house to wish her happy birthday from a distance. We brought her a latte and flowers and made the best of the freezing outdoor celebrations.

What's everyone doing for Valentines' Day? Ours will involve a family brunch, some takeout, valentine's bingo, cupcakes. maybe a newlywed game and some pink sparkling wine.
