Oh Friday! The day filled with so much promise for wonderful weekend fun! Here are a few of my very favourite things this week.
1- Marvellous Monday
Though, I'm partial to Fridays, this Monday was definitely my favourite day of the week. We had a long weekend here and our plans for Monday got cancelled. Here's what I was up to.
Started by sleeping in a bit and then having my breakfast in the front of my house. No kids, just me, my yogurt parfait and my tea.
Went for 5 mile super slow run in our neighbourhood and through the trails.
Then celebrated the Queen Mother's Birthday with bean dip, BBQ and board games… all very British of course.
2- Price adjustment
Another reason that Nordstrom is one of my faves. When ebates was having their 16% from Nordstrom on Monday, I bought these jeans. Then they went on sale on Wednesday. The very nice Nordstrom lady adjusted them for me and I saved 40%. Coupled with the fact that only size 0 is left, I consider that a definite win!
3- Mad confusion
Who here wasn't happy with the Mad Men series finale? We saved it to watch for D's birthday and it just dragged on and on…. I mean, we got closure on the other cast members but not enough for Don. And seriously, he should have gone home to be there for his kids!
4- Judy Blume comeback
A brand new adult book from my favourite pre-teen author is coming out in June. And then Elin Hiderbrand is coming out with The Rumor in mid June as well. Next month is going to be a good one. I hope I remember to feed my kids :-) haha…. they'll remind me if I don't-- very, very insistently.
5- Bike Riding
Darin is determined to teach Cass to ride a bike soon. And with no training wheels. Following this video. I'm intrigued and will keep you posted.

Amy for Hey Friday
Your Monday sounded (& looked) absolutely perfect!! I love taking advantage of those Ebates offers too, and how wonderful that Nordstrom adjusted the price for you when those jeans went on sale a few days later!! Great eye in catching that price drop -- you are a girl after my own heart! ;) Have a fantastic Memorial Day weekend! xo - Brenda // Chatting Over Chocolate
ReplyDeleteYour Monday sounded amazing. What a nice quiet morning breakfast!
ReplyDeleteTotal win on the Nordstrom deal - great buy girl! Happy Friday! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteWoohoo on the savings and your Monday sounds absolutely perfect!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to check out the new Judy Blume book! It's on my summer reading list!
ReplyDeleteI think what happened is that Don went back to NY, got the Coke account and wrote the most famous Coke ad ever inspired by his time at the retreat. So he would have been there for his kids, and he'd still be working with Peggy. Sure, he may continue so carry on with a string of women, but I think that's fine.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the bike riding! Thanks for stopping by Colletta's Kitchen Sink :)

ReplyDeleteBreakfast alone sounds magical. What a way to start the week. Total score on those jeans too!!
ReplyDeleteGreat breakfast idea, good power food, C is persistent and determine, bike riding will be easy for her, and of course her sister will be following soon.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an awesome Monday! And I LOVE price adjustments lol!
ReplyDeleteThat Monday looks completely fabulously perfect!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the bike training Marissa learned last summer and then it took her a whole year to find her confidence. She is pretty fearless now... I am not sure if that is a good thing or not!
