Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a lovely day yesterday and that the year that follows is filled with all things bright and beautiful.
It has been crazy cold in Canada so this family has been in cocoon mode. We stayed in for New Year's Eve--- before kids we would always go to a nice dinner or party for New Years' Eve-- things certainly have changed! Since Cassia was born, we've spent it with her, usually going to a house party or get-together and then getting home in time for midnight. Maybe things will change later but for now, I wouldn't have it any other way.... and I also had a miserable cold so I couldn't imagine going out anyways.
On New Year's Eve, Darin made his famous seafood risotto, we opened a couple nice bottles of champagne, danced a bit (well C, A & D did), snacked and watched the movie New Years' Eve and then waited for the ball to drop--- and guess who stayed up for her first midnight--- yep, that's right- my little night owl- Miss Cassia! She was the life of the 'par-tay'!
