Napa downtown and Calistoga- our little trip

Warning-- I'll be saying beautiful, amazing and delicious all through this post. There are so very many Napa pictures from our anniversary! Here are just a few.

We stayed at the River Terrace Inn-- a beautiful quaint hotel in downtown Napa.
Our first stop was the Oxbow Market for some lunch. Such a pretty place with little delicious treats and eats.  I had this amazing shrimp enchilada for lunch. It was delicious!

We walked around town and D found a vintner. His plan was for us to do a tasting here, then based on our varietal of choice, get some recos on the wineries to visit as there are so very many to choose from and we wanted to head a bit off the beaten path.

We walked around town for a bit and visited some of the little stores before getting dressed for dinner. #filtersareamazing

Based on the vintners' recos, we headed to Bistro Don Giovanni for some salads and pasta.... oh and chocolate cake... because really vacation eating is the best and the worst-- all combined!

The next day bright and early we headed to Calistoga as Darin's mission on this trip was to visit Clos Pegase, very beautiful winery with amazing architecture and a heritage garden. When we did a tasting, D fell in love with their 2012 Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon and he joined their wine club. As part of the package, we returned on our anniversary to do the total wine tour-- also another highlight of the trip.

Next up, Sterling Winery which was right across the street from Clos Pegase. A popular choice among the tourists. With the aerial tram ride, greek architecture, walking tour and beautiful vistas, we could see why! The wines were okay but the experience was lovely.
We headed to Mumm before lunch as I wanted to visit a sparkling wine winery also. Another picturesque one with lots of mums in their beautiful  garden!!!

Some delicious tastings

After it was a quick lunch, a walk through Calistoga and a tasting at the Miner Family Winery atop a hill overlooking acres and acres of vineyards. Such a wonderful way to end our day of tasting. It was at this point, I decided to drive to let D enjoy the tastings. I ended up driving for most of the trip after since the winding roads weren't the greatest for my motion sickness.

Back to the hotel, freshening up and then we were on our way to Zuzu for tapas for dinner- I love tapas just like I love appetizers for dinner. That way you don't have to commit to one thing but instead can taste lots. Their flounder ceviche was so, so good!!

And then Day 2 & 3 of our trip were complete!! Fun times with my sweets :)

Happy Friday, lovelies. Our last weekend before our 21 day fix!
