Let me preface this by saying, growing up I never had a mantle.... I mean, who has a fireplace in the tropics--- no one!! So coming to Canada, it's certainly a pleasure to have a mantlepiece to decorate for Christmas--- especially something so synonymous with the season in all the holiday specials I used to watch as a kid.
My mantle is a little different from most as we have more of a modern/transitional style home, the mantle is a basically sleek 'hole' into the wall. Here it is...

Everything was bought more than a few years ago with the exception of the votif candles-- this year @ Target. I basically cut a plastic poinsettia plant to get the flowers and mixed them up with some golden mesh (Crate and Barrel) and yellow lights.
Here's our cranberry Christmas Tree that I bought the first year we got married.

These hurricane jars usually stand in our bathroom year round, one filled with shells and the other with sand and a starfish. I just filled them with Christmas decorations as we have so many.
