Scandinave Spa Girls' Getaway

Happy Monday friends. Here are a few pictures from a mini-getaway I had with some friends last week. It's actually the first overnight girls' trip I've done since I've had kids. It was amazing, relaxing and so, so good for the soul.

On Thursday after drop off, we headed two hours north to The Blue Mountain Village, a quaint town about two hours north of us. First up, some coffee and a little custom furniture browsing.

We did a quick, beautiful hike in Old Baldy before stopping for lunch in Thornbury
Where's a good selfie stick when you need one.

Their mushroom pizza was SO good!

View from our room at check in.

After check in we made a quick stop to the LCBO, because priorities.

We totally overshot in buying and took most of it home. Two people did need to carry our spoils up to the room just in case. #bettersafethansorry

A little chill time before dinner

The Village was very quiet on Thursday night.

Dinner at Twist Restaurant and Lounge

And lots of chats and laughs ensued until about 2 am that morning.

Bright and early in the am, we checked out, grabbed some breakfast and then went to the Scandinave Spa.

Yeah, no spa breakfast here.

Signs like this were all around the spa and there were men dressed  walking all around policing the quiet...

So pretty and it was so, so relaxing! The recommended process was 10-15 minutes in the heat (either the hot baths, the eucalyptus room or the dry sauna), 10-15 seconds in the cold 'rinse' and 10 minutes of relaxation and you repeat for as many times as you wish. We skipped some the relaxation parts and did lotsof  the hot/cold with whispered chats for fear of getting in trouble.

After our massages and some soup we headed back to the baths for more than an hour before heading to dinner. Greek Food and belly dancing for the win.

A little walk in the village and one last selfie and we headed home late Friday night.

The rest of the weekend was pretty low key with errands, chores, inviting some neighbours for tea time and a little lunch and playtime with some friends and six little girls.

Happy Monday, friends!

  1. Aaaahhh! That weekend sounds amazing. I bet you felt like girls in school worrying about getting in trouble for talking. But still, it sounds amazing. Glad you were able to get away friend.

  6. What a fun get away. Trips with friends are so fun and you don't have to worry about the kids because they are home with the husbands. Glad you got some relaxing in, and hopefully it helped your back too.
