I'm emerged from moving mania for a quick break to shout out my awesome friends(bloggy and otherwise) and  family for being around for three years with me! You guys are the GREATEST!

Hello again, friends...

I've been scarce I know. The good news is only 8 more days of this moving madness! The even better news is that for the most part (apart from the totally essential essentials) we are all done with the packing. The BEST news is that we've actually begun unpacking--- kitchen today. Stuff is also getting done-- like trim, counter tops and painting.... so while I thought this time would be super stressful, I'm actually allowing myself to get just a tiny bit excited as well!

In the meanwhile, just a few photos from everyday life...

Took a quick break from all the mayhem to go on a lunch date with my sweet girl!

Moving...so.much.fun

Cleaning out the freezer involves eating out the freezer--- chicken samosas #yumminess

Konmari-ing my three year old's pajamas--- at last count she had 32!! Seriously, who has more pajamas than days in the month?? Between, hand me downs gifts and the matching ones I buy for my kids- things got seriously out of hand

D and I bought ourselves a faucet for our kitchen  and a quick sushi dinner

A little caffeine and time to myself. #nomakeup #needsome

First we're selling the fridge... then we're not... then we're selling the one in the new house. Fun times

But no matter what, we are still finding time to party like the rockstars we really are :-)

Cheers, friends!!

It's me and my new year resolution's'

It's a little late I know but I totally love Andrea's Show & Tells so I wanted to squeeze this one in…

Who am I?

For those who are new, I'm Sarita. I was born and I grew up in Trinidad, a Caribbean island. I loved life there, my family, my friends, my job and the very warm weather…. but then I met a boy (another Trinidadian) who was about to migrate to Canada again-- this time for good. So in a way I followed him... after a long distance relationship year #reallynotreally. I did my MBA up in Canada for two years full time and when I graduated, we got married. Three years later Cassia was born, three years after that ca and three years after that, here we are.

I started this blog when A was almost six months old as a way to remember all the small stuff my kids were doing and we wanted to capture. Most of my family doesn't live in Canada so the blog also a way for them to get caught up with the girls, their milestones and their activities. My biggest feat to date is raising two strong, smart girls who believe that the world is theirs to OWN… Hence the blog name… it's my girls' world

Oh and I also share recipes, tips and tricks and all the other little bits and pieces of our life :-)

So before I get into 2016, I thought I would shamefully recap my 2015 resolutions and where I stand with them:

+ clean out my basement--- done, done and totally done as we were selling our home

introduce C to some charity work--- this did not come into fruition, through NO lack of trying on my side. Everywhere we asked, you had to be eight---I think it's because that's when they say that kids develop a sense of empathy. I'll try again in 2017!

Develop my green thumb inside the house-- I was all set to do it before the end of the year and then we decided to move so now we wait until the new house.

So as I tend to like crossing things off a list- I only do a few new year resolutions that requires some  sort of work but are attainable . 2016 will hopefully bring:

a smooth, seamless move to our new home… who are we kidding?! No move is seamless but I'm going to try my very best not to get stressed out by all of the stuff, the unpacking, the packing, the purging and the work being done. I am already sensing some unravelling at the seams and I just want to get through this month…. and this year, no worse for the wear. And I don't want to find a ton of unpacked boxes by the end of 2017!

- Continue with some Marie Kondo Decluttering and Tidying Up. I started and began implementing and LOVED it so I definitely hope to continue the purging and organising in 2016!

and of course...
that green thumb inside the house finally!!!

So yeah, pretty simple but fingers crossed for it all getting done!
2016 is going to be epic!

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year friends!!! I hope that 2016 is an amazing one for us all filled with only the very best in store. We had plans for a super low key night in Toronto with my brother and his family but after my sister in law got a bit of a bug, we decided to let her rest and celebrate a little closer to home. So a last minute call to some family/friends Shaun/Kathryn and we headed to their house for a not so quiet celebration with about eighty of their nearest and dearest friends.

Everyone brought food and drink to share. This was before most of the stuff arrived….

The kids were in the basement having a wonderful time!!

There was a quiet area for those who needed to chill!

And some dancing for the few who were inclined… yep that's A and her dad! She woke up from her nap at 5:30 so she was VERY rested and lasted for the first time ever until midnight.

Now for some dancing with mama….

And some 'champagne'- she drank hers out way before midnight.

Our last family shot of 2015!

There was CONFETTI which I strongly suspect they will be finding until 2017!

Is this her dancing face?!

We left a bit after midnight and maybe the minute after we took off, this happened.

The next day was pretty low key until we headed to some more family's house in the pm. They have three girls so we just hung out, had a yum dinner (complete with veggies which we've all been lacking since December 2nd) and the girls (and maybe me) played Just Dance for five hours.

Have a wonderful 2016, friends!! Mine involves moving and packing, some of which have started already… I'll be a bit scarce but popping in to say hi from time to time.
