What's Up Wednesday- October 2020.

Hello, lovelies and Happy Hump-Day!! Here's what we are up to...

, What’s Up Wednesday {04.29.20}

What we're eating this week:

Eating healthy-ish...

Monday: air fried chicken, spinach salad and quinoa

Tuesday: turkey vegetable soup (I used the remainder of the thanksgiving turkey (including all the bones) and lots of veggies and let it simmer for a few hours)

Wednesday: fish and cauliflower salad

Thursday: butternut squash soup

Friday: Mexican turkey tostadas

Maybe dinner will include some takeout this weekend.... we found a great sushi place in town and order every few weeks.

What I'm reminiscing about:

Easy Halloweens past with normal trick or treating!

And it might be the last year for a certain 11 yo to trick or treat so let's look back at my little ladybug on her first Halloween.

What I'm dreading:

Puppy potty training.... it's such a process. He is mostly used to the pee pad but then ventures over to the carpet sometimes--- uggggg.

What I'm loving:

Apart from the puppy training which is really sapping us, we are so smitten with our little love. Here he is, at his very first birthday parade.

Also, isn't the best welcome home puppy package. My friend Jenn and her kiddos came to see Toby, brought him treats, me a coffee and the kiddos, cake pops! She is the sweetest!

What we've been up to

See above LOL.   Also, I've been using the Peloton app. We took the plunge and got their bike which should be coming next week. Their power walks are awesome and so are the strength and stretching sequences.

What I'm working on

Again, puppy stuff... sensing a theme here? All things puppy, setting schedule, keeping him entertained, working on his nipping, going to an actual puppy class for four weeks. the list is long friends.

Also, working on doing  a deep clean in certain areas of the house.

What I'm excited about

These next couple months are always my favourite of the year! Divali and Christmas... yes please!

What I'm watching/reading

As a family, we watch the Voice, DWTS, The Mask and I Can See Your Voice. D and I have been watching Schitt's Creek and I just finished and loved THe Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce. Can't wait for This is Us and all my other faves.

As for reading, here are some of the books I've read recently.

What I'm listening to:

I was listening to  (and  singing very loudly) Ace of Base, the music of my teenage years, on Spotify and my kids were like wow, music today is so much better. ha!!!

What I'm wearing:

Joggers. I thought leggings were my jam--- but Joggers are my new love language!

What I'm doing this weekend

A very subdued Halloween. We will do our pumpkin carving, watch some movies, maybe make a pumpkin treat and take our kids to a handful of the neighbours who are expecting them and making treat bags for them.

What else is new:

All the beautiful colours are slowly subduing but still there lingering on for a bit.

This is my favourite tree in our front yard.

These flowers were blooming last Friday on my walk.

and finally, my neighbourhood does the best job with all the pumpkins.

Have a great week, friends!

  3. I have yet to try air fried chicken, and am so intrigued! And I hear ya on the puppy potty training - Luna is about 3 and 1/2 months now, and I felt like we would never get her trained. It's SO hard, but so worth it! She hasn't had an accident in over a week now, and I think we are finally out of the woods. Lots and lots of incentive treats, and going outside as much as possible so they get a reward when going in the right place really helped. Good luck <3

  4. Is that a Japanese Maple in your yard? They are my favourite. Eek! A Peloton Bike. We have definitely had the discussion around here of whether to get one or not.
