Life lately

Happy Thursday. A double dose of everyday pictures from the last couple weeks!

Day #105
Day 2 of my juice cleanse. My last drink of the day is almond milk, cinnamon, dates, vanilla and sea salt. It was our absolute favourite!
#desperatetimes

Day #106
Last day of my cleanse so I went for a manicure to take my mind off stuff. Apparently, I was so hungry I couldn't even take an in-focus pic-- hahah!

#107
My old classmate Serena came to visit so we went out for an amazing Japanese/Thai meal

#108
Daddy's away so Mommy painted toes and put on makeup for these little ladies. Mayhem ensued!

#109
Aunty Ammie came to pick up the crib (A slept in it up to her nap that very day) and other stuff.

Day #110
This smile melts my heart

#111
So does this one.

#112
Silly girl. Right after A put this on, one of the other moms at music class told me to be careful about lice. I just about freaked out.

#113
Cass got a pipecleaner craft set for her birthday and made a puppy
#creativityabounds

#114
Anjali and Elin went for fro-yo. I might have snuck a bite or three.

#115
Raven's birthday party, complete with dancing!!

#116
Wonderland was wonderful!

#117
There's such a thing as over-accessorising. Those bangles went over her elbow. Please take a moment to look at her socks as well!

#118
This is how my two year old eats pears. They're organic kid. Eat it all!

#119
A has been pretty good about sleeping in her big girl bed but there's what I found the other night?

Have a great day, everyone. Don't fall off the bed.

It's my girl's day

In case you didn't figure it out by now, I make a really huge deal out of birthdays. Yes, we have a party for the kid in question, but more than that, it's their special day filled with fun for them. They get to do what they want, how they want, when they want…. within reason of course.

The night before we did some of her party decorations so she woke up to oodles of colour and festivity.

Usually she opens some presents on her birthday morning so thankfully Grandma sent a couple things since our surprise didn't come 'til a little later.

She chose to go to Tim Horton's for breakfast

This kid's mouth is apparently as big as her face.

On this day six years ago, there was all sorts of stuff going on. Now there are smiles!

We broke the news of Disney and the cruise to follow. She was so, so happy!

She wanted me to see a job at her Montessori so I did.

And she showed off her new Minnie costume from Grandma for Show & Tell

In the evening, we headed over to D's aunt's house as it was her birthday as well.

This time next year, someone else will be there to celebrate too!!

They ordered in from a local Italian catering company and man that food was amazing!

I didn't get a picture of both cakes for the birthday girls but check C's. At her request she wanted 6 chocolate cupcakes and the baker did not disappoint. Coincidentally (or maybe not ), these are the very colours of her room so she loved it!

The birthday girls waiting for cake.

So very happy. I love this pic!

D was taking the pic!

And then there were presents. Our little lady had such an amazing day. Thank you to EVERYONE who helped make it so special… including the other birthday girl!!

Here's hoping for the year that follows to be a truly special one!!

Girl Mom Stuff Swap

Being a girl mom, so much fun. Girls rule the world no??  When I saw that Jess and Courtney were having a girl mom swap, I knew that I had to get in. The lovely Katie who writes over at Free Range Mama sent my girls a ton of stuff and they loved every.single.item. It's like she went into their minds and selected exactly what they were into-- maybe I should have her buy their birthday presents for me from now on!

All week, my six year old begged me to open it ( I wanted to document everything of course)

It was a little like Christmas morning and opening their stockings.

There was a lot bit of a Frozen theme as

Sticker Albums
(with the requisite stickers of course)

Frozen hair bands

Worn immediately of course

 Frozen purses! Instantly worn too.

Chalk for the those long summer months!!

Aren't these milk bottles so cute!

Bubbles that my two year old wanted to open instantly!

Sparkles for my shine obsessed crew!

C loved these erasers and can't wait to open them

As you can see, we were very happy with all of the loot. We had to go out right after and they instantly packed some of the stuff to take with them.

Thanks so much, Katie. And to Jess and Courtney for organising.  There's something about seeing your kids open such a fun box that is totally awesome.

I sent our very colourful pacakge to Karen from Ramblings of an Otter Wifey
