Currently and Prime Lately- November 2019

November fun!!! Here's a little currently with Anne:

Picking:
Up after my kids... and also teaching them to pick up after themselves. The struggle is real, friends!

Preparing:
A pared down Christmas list for my kids. So many people want to buy stuff for them but they ask for random things like a backpack or white paint. This coupled with not wanting to contribute to the plastic catastrophe has me stumped.

Trying:
To meditate each weekday morning. I'm beginning to look forward to it :-) both guided and unguided.

Feeling:
Grateful for all of life's beautiful, bountiful blessings. These gratitude practices have definitely helped.

Following:
A high school friend of mine just had her first baby. I'm loving all the beautiful, wonderful, advice seeking posts and pictures. The years really are too short!

TBT to 10 years ago. Oh, my heart!!

And now here's some Prime Lately now with Tanya!

We have tons of natural light in our bedroom which is awesome in the winter months but come  nightfall, not so much. These eye masks do the trick.

Amazon Fashion for the littles is very cute! This poncho is such a high quality one and a favourite in our house. So much so that the 10 year old wants one too but it doesn't come in her size.

Hope & Henry Girls' Sweater Cape

This dress is also a cute one for the winter months ahead on those rare occasions that A wants to wear a dress. I love the detailing on the sleeves and pockets.

Hope & Henry Girls' Navy Ponte Quilted Riding Dress

These acrylic hoops are a great price, so light and perfect for both warm and cooler temps depending on which ones you choose.

We switched out our duvets to quilts and this one was super cheap and pretty good quality. Problem with this though is that I accidentally bought two!

  1. The gift buying is hard! I want to give my kids what they need and they say no, that's not for Hanukkah, that's just something I need!

  2. Oh my, that sweater cape is adorable!! I think gifting experiences could be a good idea for kids, even if it's just a trip to the movies.

  4. Picking up is never ending over here. I should probably be picking something up now lol. That sweater cape is so cute! I've been purchasing some random things from prime lately. Mostly things for the baby's first birthday.

  5. That sweater cape is adorable!! I am kind of glad that Amazon had not yet upped their game for children's clothes when my boys were younger.

  6. That sweater cape is the cutest thing! And ooh love those hoops - those look like great gifting options... And I'm with you on the picking up struggle, with the "teaching" part being the hardest. Since I like things tidy usually I find it's easier to just take care of things myself, but that's not really training my kid (or husband, ha!) to take care of his own things.

  7. Right there with you on the pared down C-mas list for kids! This year we're doing 4 items for each kiddo--a big change, but they're into it (finally realizing that more junk is just...more junk. They're now 15, 12, & 8 yrs old). 'Something you want, something you need, something to wear, something to eat...' (the original ends with Something to read... but since we're heavy library users and I'm constantly culling here, I went with something consumable instead! All about consumable gifts....). You cracked me up with 'white paint' :)

  9. Oh my goodness those are the most adorable little girl clothes!!

I struggle with the gifts for my child thing too - I have started asking grandparents and family to think about getting my son experience type gifts instead, like paying for lessons or classes or memberships to places they would enjoy - and then they could go together too! It's a tough one!

  10. How adorable is that poncho?! I hear ya on not wanting to contribute to plastic consumption, the struggle is for real! Do you girls love playing games? Games or puzzles may be a great idea <3
