And we're back... and ready to play catch up-- with blog posts, friends and laundry!!! It's been a crazy couple weeks!!!
In case I haven't mentioned it often enough in the past few months, we went to Disney. Two days, three nights at Disney World and then a four day Caribbean Disney cruise immediately after. All Disney all the time for one entire week. Lots of pictures and lots of memories!!
First off though, we were scared that it was a trip that wasn't meant to be as C woke up the Thursday morning before complaining of headaches and tummy pain. It got significantly worse as the day progressed so a trip to the ER ensued complete with blood work and ultrasound. It turned out to be mesenteric adentinitis (which had the symptoms of appedicitis) and a case of strep throat but we were able to travel on Friday after all!
Here we are at the beautiful Port Orleans Riverside Hotel. Lots to see and do here and just a short boat ride away from Downtown Disney Disney Springs.
On Friday, it was a bit of Disney Springs, a quick slushie stop in Goofy's Candy Shoppe for some slushies and then to Mickey's Backyard BBQ for dinner (thanks Jenn for the reco).
The girls wanted to eat everything here!!
SO much fun. Dancing, character fun, popsicles and cornbread…. we were happy!!
Bright and early on Saturday morning, we headed to Magic Kingdom. These might be my two favourite shots of our weekend here.
Cassia got the most massive nosebleed just as I took these pics on the merry-go round. (you can almost see it in these pics) So much for carefully planned outfits for photos, we had to clean her up and get a brand new Minnie emblazoned get up for her-- complete with sequins and ruffles.
After a long nap, we headed back to Disney for dinner, the parade and fireworks but got caught in a thunderstorm like no other! We braved it for a few hours, for extremely soaked, ate even more french fries and went on a couple more rides but my crew was over it and we decided to abort Mission Parade/Fireworks and turn in early.
Scrubbed and ready for bed.
Onto Day 2… a day with a promised 25-30 mm of rain and thunderstorms so we decided to do as much as we could in the morning and come home to avoid a repeat of the day before. (Sidenote, it ended up cloudy but no rain that day, go figure)
We squeezed quite a few rides in, saw a parade, bought the girls a present each and ate even more ice-cream before turning it at around five. We opted to have dinner at the hotel and everyone was too tired to come back to see the fireworks and the night-time parade.
A lot packed into two days with lifetime memories being made!!

What an amazing trip! We hope to go someday.
ReplyDeleteI worked at Walt Disney World for five years so I love seeing trip pictures! It looks like you all had a blast and that's what it's all about. I was a VIP tour guide and loved taking to children on my tours to character dance parties, they're such a fun time. Your pictures look great :)

What a completely magical trip! So many memories I bet your girls are still talking about it :).
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo! I've been excited to read this for a few days and finally remembered to read your blog first this morning! Never enough time right?
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about the rain. It is just so WET this summer. Our past two Disney trips have been wet wet wet. Not the best. Good idea to try to get all the things done in the morning though. I love all your pictures, and the matching dresses from day two! And, definitely glad your tummy aches and ER trip weren't enough to call off such a fun trip.
Apparently this post got lost in the shuffle with all our moving madness. Your girls are troopers! No stomach illness, nosebleed, or extreme weather can keep them down! Love all the pictures. Looks like tons of fun and now I'm on to hunting down your cruise post ;)
