Merry Christmas, everyone!

  

 

And I…..

+ relaxed on Friday as A and I were still getting over our cold. We had takeout, watched movies and went for a drink by our neighbours (in our sweats)

+ treated myself to a mani/pedi on Saturday morning as my nails were all kinds of wrong

+  went C's figure skating exhibition to showcase the littles and all their hard work

+ got dressed up and went with D to a grown up party on Saturday. Every guest had to bring two ingredients and we were split into teams to create different drinks in a competition. Our team (or rather the team I cheated my way into) won with our naughty and nice creations--- heard they were divine. #toooldtomixdrinks #stuckwithwineandclubsoda

+ was so happy my brother and sister in law were able to babysit our kids. 

+ did some baking with my girls and nephew. Those were the softest, cakiest, messiest sugar cookies ever. 

+ snuggled with my nephew and taught him to answer "who's my favourite aunt?"

+ went to a holiday party complete with festive parang, yummy trini food and fun for the kids.

And just like that it turned to Monday and look what I found this morning?
Yeah, my kids are having cookies for breakfast but it's seriously less sweet than a muffin and it's four days before Christmas.

Happy Christmas week, friends! Really is the MOST wonderful time of the year!

1- So we have two houses! 

For a little more than one month! We got our new home on Monday and we took the girls to check it out! It was love at first sight and they wanted to move instantly.

They also apparently decided to make out then and there.  I'll share some more photos in January when all this holiday hoopla is done! 

We headed out for a celebratory dinner in our new 'hood after.

3- A star is born...

Cass had her school Christmas concert and sang her little heart/lungs out. She is born to be on the stage.  It was "quand le pere noel" and now it's stuck in my head. The worst thing for a foreign song to be an earworm when you don't even know the words and have to just either make up words or hum…. 

4- Wine & Herbs

Some food goes better with certain wines,  that's for sure. I just love this link that FTD sent to me to share with you showing which spices go better with certain varietals of wine. Check it out! I know that my favourite sauvignon blanc goes well with lots of my favourite dishes. #winning

5- Sister Love

This little lady has been done with preschool since yesterday and she was my date to the mall yesterday… Lots of mama tricks, a candy cane and a sugar cookie after, she was very well behaved. She also spent time getting gifts for her big sister. Yeah, they might have all been what she wanted for herself but it's the thought, right?

This weekend, our friends Jenn and Alex invited us to a Holiday Brunch at their country club. A fun event including food, games, face painting, a chocolate fountain and the main event, a visit with Santa. 

Face painting is always a hit with my crew
