N I N E!

Today, my first baby turns nine so I thought in honour of the last single digit birthday,  I'm just going to share a bit of my little lady and her ninth year.

C is very musical. She is always singing or loves music or dancing. If she had her way, music would be on all the time in this house. This year, in addition to the violin, she asked to start the piano as well and she loves it. She even sometimes (a huge sometimes) practices without being told to. Also, she decided to sing randomly for her school talent show auditions and she doesn't sound half bad. Girlfriend is braver than her parents!

C has found a really good core group of friends, both in school and through swimming. There have been friendship issues before (as is oft' the case with girls) but this year, she seems more resilient and happier than previous school years.

A big reader, she started the Harry Potter Series this year and is a huge fan. She is slowly working her way through asking Google Home any words she doesn't know. She's onto Book #5 now. I  Again, better than her parents.

If it's one thing, we need to work on is her sense of responsibility. We are working on keeping her room, toys and desk clean and she has self professed that she loves 'stuff'.

She loves to wash, condition and brush her thick, beautiful hair. I love to braid it. She complains less than her sister.

She is busy! And because of that, so am I. Extra curricular for this year include the violin, piano, skiing (now done), jazz and swimming (racing)

She will wait until the very last minute to do her homework if I let her... newsflash: I don't.

Girl is the selfie queen.

Speaking of swimming, we are so proud with how well she is doing. She is like the little engine that could. She was off to a slower start this year but like the little engine that could, we see her pushing herself to get better and better and we can see her hard work paying off.

C is happy, easy and cheerful on most days. She wakes up contented.
Out of everyone in my life, I'm probably the hardest on but the most proud of my first born (my five year old is my baby and is still growing up) for all that she does and how much she can excel when she pushes herself out.

My girl, I wish you so much for you in the next year... much growth and goodness. I can't make all of your choices for you anymore but we pray that you choose great over good and prayer over fear. You've got this, girl!
