Little Letters

Hello Friends.... Time for a long overdue little letters post.

Dear NYC Cousins,

You are fun. You are awesome. I love you guys. My most recent wedding trip was short but sweet and the fond memories linger on. The new whatsapp group is an awesome bonus and has me chuckling many times a day.

Dear Four Day weeks,
You are simply the best! You don't come often enough.

Dear Fall,
You sure are pretty. I'm in awe of your beautiful hues at this time of year. If only I could get these colours but temps in the early twenties (Celsius)/seventies (Fahrenheit), life would be perfect.

Dear Husband,
Thank you for holding down the fort while I was gone (see NYC trip above). Dad's the fun parent for sure and sugar may have been more plentiful but I came back home to very happy kids, a clean house and an organised shoe/coat cupboard. #winning.

Dear Amazon Clothes Purchase,
I'm loving the style and the price but I'm not loving the huge hole in the back of A's sleeve we discovered right after we took the tag off.

Dear Juan Pablo,
I don't think you are going to win DWTS but I want you to. You are awesome and I love Fernando from Fuller House LOL.

Dear Netflix Canada,
Speaking of Fuller House, y'all need to bring Parenthood into our Canadian circulation!

Dear Baby Shark Doo Doo,
You are pure poetry-- just ask my three year old nephew or nine year old daughter or forty something ;-) year old husband. Your lyrics and melody transcends all ages.

Dear Body of Mine,
Though I gripe about my tummy, my thighs and my weight not being what I want it to be, I want to thank you for all that you do for me. Despite your challenges (hello spinal rod), you help me to rock a good workout, care for my family and self and have fun with whatever I do. You are strong, capable beautiful and awesome in your own special way and I appreciate the wonder of you.

Happy Weekending, Lovelies!

How We Wednesdays--- Meal Planning & 10 Recipes

Happy Wednesday, friends! I'm loving this four day week and the sunshine we're having.

Today on How We Wednesday , we're talking Meal Planning Tips. Here's how we do it around here:

LOL! Kidding.... kind of... but seriously here they are.

1- On Sunday or Monday, I do a big grocery haul and get the supplies for the week. I plan in my head a general idea of the meal plan for the week.

2- I do a big batch of  soup on the Monday or sometimes the Tuesday and use that as much possible during the week for leftovers.

3- We usually make a protein and a vegetable for the adults and a carb for the kid. It's pretty easy to boil some pasta, bake potatoes, make some rice or give them a roll. I do try to mix up the different sorts of cuisines though.

4- Everyone has to usually eat the same sort of things. Mama is no short order cook.

5- Cutting up veggies at the beginning of the week makes it easy for lunch, snacks and even for meal prep.

6- A big salad all prepped never goes to waste for lunch or dinner.

7- These days I'm not buying as much as I used to as I was finding some things are wasting so I'm trying to 'eat out' our pantry, freezer and fridge a bit.

8- On that note, if there are enough leftovers, I omit a meal and save it for the other day.

9- We go meatless on Thursday.

10- As for sharing recipes, I just google what I'm making that day or do it from memory. I could be better in that department.

Speaking of recipes, here are my 10 of my favourites:
Pumpkin Poppers (yummy fall snack)

Healthy Corn dip (a hit with a bigger crowd and so simple to make)

Spicy Tuna Poke

Coconut Red Lentil Soup

Chicken Tortilla Vegetable Soup.

Asian Cilantro Chicken Pasta

Oprah's Turkey Burgers

Cauliflower Rice

Grilled Calamari

(The Best!) Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies

How do you meal plan? Any favourite recipes to share?

Friday Favourites- Life Lately

Yay for Friday. I'm in NYC but here's a little life lately favourites for ya:

I chaperoned C's class for a First Nations exhibit at our local museum. I learnt so much. We were exposed to  their way of life, how much stereotypes are out there and even fit in some traditional First Nations dancing and hoop dancing.

This kiddo has been knocking it out of the park these days. She found $20 in school and she gave it to a teacher--- she could just have easily kept it but honesty prevailed. Also, we are quite pleased with how well she did in her provincial testing-- hard work DOES pay off, kids!

Took the kids for a cakepop and a little treat.

Check out this cake from a party we went to the other day!

This sweet boy turned two!

A jumped like it was her job!

We also headed to City Hall for a local Etsy display. So many beautiful treats.

We had a long overdue date night on Saturday at one of our favourite local joints, Gilt.

Yeah, life isn't dull that's for sure.

So much yummy goodness! The chef is a master with different flavour combinations

Peanut butter and jelly wings--- SO good!

Who needs toys when you have beans and a slight touch of OCD?

We headed to Port Credit with some friends the other day. It was so beautiful!

This was at John Darling Park.

We headed to Port Credit for a Mexican dinner!

I have been craving these BBQ cauliflower tacos since we've had them.

And that's a little life lately!

Make your weekend a good one, friends!

Planning:
to purge MY stuff in October. September was all about the kitchen stuff. October is all about clothes, jewelry, makeup and toiletries--- eesh!

And for a little Prime lately... very little and very lately because of no spend September which I so didn't do the best at--'had to' buy a couple KS sale items and some earrings for the upcoming wedding!

This sweater looks so fun.

BLENCOT Womens Autumn Shirts Casual Color Block Plaid Long Sleeve Soft Long Tunic Tops Knit Black-White Small

The BEST low carb chocolate bar, Choc Zero is back in stock though I'm not getting it until November most likely as it takes a while to ship.

'Buying this for sure soon in time for next warm vacay for A. At $9.99 it's worth the trial. My sister in law tells me that I like to dress the kids like I dress... She isn't wrong and in this case I would totally wear this!
