Friday Favourites: Canadian Thanksgiving weekend!

#Fridayfeelings! As we're heading into another weekend, here's a look at one of my FAVOURITE weekends of the year, Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. I was a bit nervous about this one because of my messy house in shambles because of the renovation. With some ingenuity and creativity, we rocked it though.

This weekend :
We dropped C off to swimming on Friday and heading for drinks and dinner at Bauer Kitchen! So yum

Did Mathesium, grocery shopping and a run with Toby

Headed to Mississauga at D's aunt's place for a Thanksgiving meal, SO much dessert and family time

Played Werewolves for the first time (obsessed)

Woke up late on Sunday, prepped our thanksgiving meal, brought outdoor furniture indoors and set everything up

Went for a short run with Toby followed by a longer hike with the family.

Had way too much Thanksgiving Dinner #

Watched "The Luckiest Girl Alive" with D - scary when you have a newly minted teen girl in the house

Slept in on Monday but went for a long, beautiful walk with a friend

Went to another friend's house and came home stocked with food.

Had leftovers for dinner!!

On Tuesday,  though technically not the weekend, went with D for a quick bite to eat and to see Bryan Adams in our first concert in ages!!

I like little sticks of fries and these were the best!

These pumpkin flowers are always my fave-- I'm also blessed to be gifted one every year!

Cookie decorating!

Thankfully, I could find a few of my little decorations!

Outdoor rug and furniture- check!

A teenager and her mama

On the menu: green beans, salad, mashed potatoes (c's specialty), stuffing, cranberry, bread, gravy and turkey!

Have a wonderful weekend, friends! XOXOX

Our Christmas Cookie Decorating Party

Happy Monday, friends! We hosted a cookie decorating party for the girls and their friends this weekend and here are some pictures of all the fun!!!This is the second year that we've done this for them and they all  love it.

I get these cookie kids at Homesense, split them apart and then buy some extra supplies at the Bulk Barn. Bam! Party!

My lighting was not cooperating this year.

Some little nibbles for the kids and the parents who stayed.

This little one is growing up before my eyes!!!

Ignore the large scissors on the table. Clearly, I wasn't in full-on blogging mode.

A little old school pass the  parcel, building a fort and some old school party planning-pretend play (!?) finished off the fun.

Such a simple holiday party for the little ones!

Have a wonderful week before Christmas, friends!

Weekend Fun!

Happy Monday! This is one Monday that I'm not ready to get my usual Monday productive self on. All this gal wants to do is watch Christmas movies and eat cookies. But alas, soldier on we must. This weekend:

- kinda not really started on Thursday where in solidarity with our American family, we did a Thanksgiving Lite--- way more veggies than my American family has though.

- did most of my Black Friday shopping on Thursday online  (hello Zara) but quite honestly didn't do a whole, whole lot .

- Attempted to go to a couple stores on the Friday but once again, didn't buy too much.

- Date night with my favourite on Friday night. We saw Last Christmas which was so poignant and lovely. Tried the VIP cinema in town where you can order a la carte during the movie (and wine!).

- Our elves came on Saturday morning with some scones to lots of laughter and excitement!!

- Headed out to a Christmas experience on Saturday. Horse drawn trolley ride, crafts, Santa and treats- yes please!!

- Had some old neighbours of ours over here to see the 'new' house.

- Lots of laundry, Christmas movies and family time in between.

- C and I were supposed to head to a swim meet early Sunday but with the bad freezing rain coming in, D we decided it was best to stay in.  Can't say we didn't mind.

- Did some wrapping, gift organising, online shopping, Christmas baking (with the very few ingredients we had) and... you guessed it... laundry... all the while watching Christmas shows with the fam.

Nixed the regular Thanksgiving pies for cookies instead. #winning.

We played a game with her dad to see how many people she could wave to from the trolley and who would wave or smile back for points. Let's just say she won...

Have a wonderful week, friends!!!
