Friday Five

Oh weekends, you can't come fast enough. It's March break next week so we're on a bit of a break. We are keeping it local with a couple of little day trips planned and one night out to Deerhurst. Fun  times in these parts

1- Skin Medica is my jam

On the advice of a medical skin consultant, I've been using a new line of clinical skin products just for a little more 'brightening'… says this girl in her thirties.  I've got to say, it's a bit pricy but I love it. My skin is much  brighter, my complexion more even and I'm finding the need for makeup to be less. I bought the first batch from the skin consultant's office but will get the rest for a fraction of the cost from Amazon. This Vitamin C& E Serum is amazing as is this AHA cream and this eye cream. Full post coming up!

2- Being a girl mom

I guest posted yesterday at Our Pretty Little Girls on Being a Girl Mom. If you haven't checked it out yet, please do.

3- Yummy Spaghetti Squash

I tried it for the first time yesterday and I am sold.  My favourite meal this week by far!! And it was totally vegetarian but so filling! Can't wait to begin experimenting with other recipes. Does anyone have any?

Looks appetizing, no?!

4- Violin Love

On Wednesday, C took her violin to show and share at school as well as to her Kindermusik class. She did a little performance for both classes. Let me tell you, this kid has nerves of steel. She played better than she usually does at home for me. Definitely my favourite moment this week, watching her bravely playing for everyone. My eyes might or might not have filled up. She has already told me that when she grows up she shall be on the stage! We'll see, little one

5- Disney done!

So we've decided! Our little vacation this summer will be Magic Kingdom for 2 days followed by a four day cruise. Disney overload here we come!! Meal Plan or not? Balcony or Porthole. These are serious decisions, my friends? #firstworldproblems #pleasedontstopreadingtheblog. So very excited and truth be told a little scared as well.

And in case, you need a dose of cuteness

Being a girl mom….

One of the two  biggest joys in my life is that I have daughters….. I was meant to be a girl mom. Today I'm guest-posting at Our Pretty Little Girls about what having my girls means to me. You can read about it here…..

As for the other biggest joy, I'll share that another time!

Thanks Beth for letting be the first guest post in your awesome series!

Tuesday Confessions

I've been a bit scarce around these parts due to some contract work I'm doing but I'm popping by for a little convo' and some random confessions from my end….

+I'm deathly scared of cats and frogs….. seriously…. well frogs more than cats but when I was a kid, cats freaked me out…. and more toads than frogs.

+I did not really learn to cook until I got married. I could make a couple little things but when I got married, I guess I figured 'go big or go home'- literally... my husband is a foodie. So I became pretty adept in the kitchen…. or so I tell myself ;-)

+I have straight thick hair so when people see it they love it… it's not 'nice' straight though, it has frizz in a major way though so don't be envious of it. It takes me a long while to style so I don't wash my hair everyday.

I reread books all the time. I think it's a waste to read a book once. Otherwise I'd just borrow it from the library. Every summer I reread Elin Hilderbrand's books.
`
I love lists and calendars… seriously, lists are my love language.

I think I have a gift with guessing girls or boys when people are pregnant. I've been wrong twice but I like to focus on the dozens of times I've been right.

When I was a kid, my mom switched me from left to right handed (it was the thing to do at the time). I do lots of stuff with my left hand still.

I'm guiltily obsessed with the Bachelor and read all of the tweets after the show and all of those funny recaps too.

I lose it sometimes with my kids and feel immediately guilty sometimes

I gave up chocolate for Lent and it's harder than I thought…. but it's getting easier.

If this isn't Tuesday Talk, I don't know what is?  Linking up with Beth and some other lovely ladies.

Everyday of week 7 and 8… almost

I have not been the best at taking pictures of everyday life. A lot of nights I remember too late when everyone is asleep and since no one really wants to see a screen capture of my iPad, no picture!

Day #48-
so- very-sick
No pictures

Day #49
As C and I were ill, Jenn picked A up from school and took her to lunch. These little monkeys are just a little cray. Jenn also brought me soup #goodfriendindeed

Day #50
Once no shots are involved, my kids love the doctor's office. Especially since stickers are involved.

#51
Belated V'Day dinner with D. He got sick right after--- #flufamily

#52
D napped and so did A so C and I went to the mall for me to pick up a few things and for C to browse. She is 5 and already a mall rat… She will browse for days.

#53
A playdate and some dress up

#54
No pictures- totally forgot ;-s

#55
Oatmeal=morning smiles
#wishismiledforoats

#56
Heritage Night

#57
Summer plus winter all in one toddler… and yeah, those sunglasses are upside down.

#58
Look who lost tooth #3!!

#59
Counting the toddler squats seemed like a good idea….

#60
A little time out at a restaurant. It's been so cold, we haven't ventured out with the kids much. They inhaled their food.

#61
That's an avocado-- she ate a whole one that day.

#62
A quickie coffee and catch up with my friend Jenn.

#63
And tooth #4 came out 4 days after #3

Almost Friday!!!
Linking with with Annie and Nat for Thoughts on Thursday.
