My favourite tree

This tree in our backyard brings me so much joy. It stands right outside our family dining area and I can see the tops of the branches from my closet window. In the spring, it bears such beautiful flowers- sorry, Cassia corrected me, informing me that they were blossoms. It sheds its flowers and is so lush in the summer, very green and shady. In the fall, before the leaves start to fall, they turn such a beautiful autumn colour. And in the winter, though the tree is bare, I look at it often in the hope that spring and the beautiful white flowers will soon come again.

Yes, that's the baby in the photo. Cassia is scared of bees so she ran inside.

These blooms don't last for very long so I am enjoying them while they last.

Weekend fun

I know that someday, I will look back at this time in my life, and know that these were absolutely the best days- when my babies were young.  Weekends are extra special as my dear Darin is home and we get to spend time together as a family- sometimes we run errands, we often meet up with friends and family, we celebrate special events and other times we go out just 'cause. In any case, I love capturing these memories as I know we'll look back fondly on them someday.

Here are some shots from this weekend's activities.

Cassia and her BF- can't say BFF since she's only 4.

Coming back from some Mommy- Daughter time in Target and Starbucks

We dined al fresco as it's finally nice out

Our little ham- having some chicken cilantro pasta. This was after running through the sprinkler.

Girls night in

On Friday night, my favourite ladies and I got together for Andrea's birthday. We had tons of fun with great appies, seafood and wine. The vault opened that evening so some secrets came out  (Holy Batman!) making for a very entertaining night! That's all I can say.

The kids also had a blast with Cassia going to bed almost at one on the way home. I believe this was a record for her. Anjali loved all the attention but poor thing fell off the bed- even though we had surrounded her with pillows and ever so often someone would check on her :-(

Love these girls-- we need to do this more often! There is nothing like the friendship, honesty and laughter that comes out of a great girls night.

Luv!

Mmmmm..... Thanks Jo!

Happy Birthday Andrea- the cheesecake I made turned out great by the way!

I really don't like this pic of myself but everyone else looks great

I really like this pic of myself so I'll end on that note.
